Brochure series to encourage talented young musicians to apply

The Detroit Symphony Orchestra Civic Ensembles give young musicians a change to learn with DSO staff and perform in front of live audiences

The DSO has 3 types of civic ensembles: Jazz, Wind, and Classical, each with a number of ensemble groups. Students must audition and if accepted have regular rehearsals with DSO musicians, and get to perform numerous times, including on the Orchestra Hall Stage.

The Power of Dreams String Music Project is a different type of educational offer. Children in grades 3-8 can participate if string education isn’t offered at their school.
